All About Mrs. Pizzolo

My name is Vanessa Pizzolo and I am thrilled to be continuing teaching at Upper School as a Special Education Teacher in the area of English Language Arts replacement. I began my undergraduate studies at Marist College earning a B.A. in psychology, special education, and general education. I continued my studies at Saint Peter's University, earning a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist. I also earned a certification in Supervision and Educational Leadership. Education and personal growth are extremely important to me. I have spent many years advancing my skills as an educator in order to provide the best possible education to my students. My teaching career began in Fairview, NJ where I taught grades K - 3. Years later, I accepted a teaching position with the Union City Board of Education teaching a specialized special education program. As a teacher, I strongly believe in creating a community where all students feel safe and motivated. I understand the importance of differentiated, rigorous, and relevant instruction that meets the needs of all learners. I appreciate the uniqueness of each individual student and the various learning styles they possess. I believe in adapting my teaching methods and materials to the meet the needs of ALL students. One of my goals as an educator is to instill a love and eagerness for learning in my students. In sharing my own passion for education and learning, I hope that the students become enthusiastic and become lifelong learners themselves. I strive to help my students succeed and to be the best educator that I can be. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy spending much of my time with my amazing family. In my free time, I also enjoy traveling, baking, and running. I am excited for this new year!
