Summer Reading 2022

Dear Englewood Cliffs Students, Parents  & Guardians,

Summer Reading 2022

Englewood Cliffs is a member of the Fort Lee Public Library, so, if you are new in town,  please check out their programs and services. The theme at the Fort Lee Public Library this summer is all about Dinosaurs.

Online, check out their recommended book selections and lists by grade level, and browse or borrow eBooks in their collection, or, with a Destiny account (grades 2-8), browse and borrow our eBooks from the Destiny Discover link. Just be sure to speak to the Fort Lee librarian to set up online login credentials. The best thing about eBooks is that they check themselves back in, and go where you go.

Students can find a reading log at this page to keep track of what they read and then share it with their new teachers.  No long summaries are needed; just titles, author names and a short comment. Summer reading rewards will end by October. Completing the reading log is optional but I highly recommend the writing practice too!

Finally, most of you may already know, I am retiring as of July 1st. It has been my privilege and honor to serve as the Library Media Specialist for the Englewood Cliffs public elementary school district, and I leave with many fond memories. The transformation from a traditional library into our high-tech Educate to Innovate environment was challenging and exciting, but it gives me the courage to explore my own ideas, and, soon, with the time to do it.

I hope to hear and read all about the successes of the students that moved on to high school or are still here. Best of luck and learning always!

Happy a great summer! Mrs. Mangiat

The Google doc I linked below is for Upper students [only with an existing school Google account], but first make a copy and rename it [add your name] before listing your summer reading.

Print or use a digital copy of the reading log attached to record your summer reading. See the public librarian to find books, join their reading programs, and for help checking books out. Raz-Kids is provided with your login year round.
