Planning for High School

Beginning in September of their 8th grade year, our students will begin the process of exploring what direction they would like their academic future to take for High School and beyond. Englewood Cliffs has a send-receive relationship with Englewood Public Schools, and students who do not choose to explore Private/Academy/Tuition options will attend Dwight Morrow High School at no cost to the parent. Students who do choose to explore these options will begin a process of applying and potentially interviewing or testing for schools they wish to attend.

In an effort to assist students and parents through this process, we offer several opportunities to gain information and guidance. Parents and students will be invited to an information session to discuss some of their options in September/October. Students will also be given guidance on the options they are interested in, mock interviews in several different forms, advice and guidance on the application process, and letters of recommendation. Students will meet with me many times throughout the year to ensure they are comfortable, prepared, and excited for their journey after Englewood Cliffs District.

More detailed information will be provided at the information session, but in the meantime please see below for some basic guidance on what 8th graders can expect to explore!
