The Englewood Cliffs Student Council's primary goals include encouraging strong student participation in the various aspects of school life including extracurricular activities as well as fundraising, school spirit initiatives, working within the community, and to provide opportunity for training in the democratic process.
The council shall not have authority to make policies for the district or regulations for the school. Nor shall they have any disciplinary authority, except for recommending removal from the council of one of their members. However, the council may make recommendations to the administration on any topic of student concern. The administration and student council shall keep channels of communication open, not only between themselves, but between all students and the council.
Student council elections are held at the end of the year with position availability open to only ascending 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The offices are as follows: President; Vice-President; Sergeant at Arms; Treasurer; Secretary.
