Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome to the 2009-10 school year! We hope you like our new look!

I'm proud to share with you that we have accomplished much in our district this past summer. We are in the process of implementing several new initiatives and the 2009-2010 school year is shaping up to be one of our best ever! I realize, and hope you do too, that many of our new initiatives will take time for us to perfect and I ask for your patience and encouragement as we become proficient in them.

Here's a brief summary of what we have accomplished during the summer months! We provided the staff with opportunities for professional growth in the areas of brain compatible instruction and infusing technology into the curriculum; improved the safety and security of our campuses with the installation of security cameras, identification system and access control into the buildings; establish a new presence on the internet; revised our curriculum in mathematics at the 6th 7th and 8th grade; strengthened our student support services with the addition of a guidance counselor; strengthened and expanded our technology infrastructure which will allow us to implement our 1 to 1 tablet computer program for our middle school students; and have created a virtualized environment which will allow students and staff with access to our programming and computer applications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! You'll be hearing more about these and other initiatives throughout the year.

Our support staff, clerical staff and custodians have been preparing our buildings and operations ready for the students to arrive! You will see for yourself, the efforts put forth by our crew as our children enter a district that is safe, secure and clean. A “tip of the hat” is extended to all staff for all of their hard work preparing our school for our children's arrival

In closing, know that we will continue to improve our efforts to foster communications between our parents and school community, and continue to improve upon our skills and ability to deliver exceptional instruction to all students. Please remember that your involvement in our schools is incredibly important as parent involvement is a key component of successful schools. I invite you to join us as we continue to build upon Englewood Cliffs' exceptional reputation and tradition to provide a high quality program instructional program in a safe and technology-rich learning environment.
